I've spent my entire adult life as a Realtor (36 years and counting). It is a priviledge and an honour to be trusted to help my clients.
But I'm also a husband, a dad, a brother, a grandpa (welcome Caleb!) and many other things. I've lived in Richmond Hill and Aurora the whole time, building community bonds in a place that I love. I enjoy boating, baseball, golf, music, and spending time with my family at our cottage in Muskoka.
I serve on the Professional Standards Panel with the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board and on the Board of Managers at my church in Thornhill. I also volunteer with a few local community groups.
The communities north of Toronto are my area of expertise: Richmond Hill, Thornhill, Aurora, and Newmarket are my main communities, but I'm often called to work in Vaughan, Markham, East and West Gwillimbury and Innisfil.
Nearly all my business is referral based; "word of mouth" has been my best advertising. I don't remember the last time I made a cold call or knocked on a door. I'm grateful for every friend and colleague who refers me to someone they care about; there is no greater professional compliment than that.
My approach to selling real estate is pretty simple. "Excellence. One client at a time" isn't just a catch phrase. It's my guiding principle. In these days of high-volume, low-service real estate, I've decided to do things differently and offer consierge-style real estate services to a small number of highly valued clients.
I don't lead a "real estate team". No junior agents or part-time help. I look after my people myself, with the kind of dedication to excellence that "Top Producers" and "Number One Agents" just don't have time to provide.
I still rank consistently in the top 10% of Royal Lepage agents in Canada every year. I'm just trying to do it really, really well for those few clients that I choose to take on.
I love incorporating innovations and new technologies into my practice. I'm constantly taking courses to learn new things. But the core principles of the real estate business will never change. Service, skill, experience and commitment to excellence are what makes an agent good, and they are what my clients value most. Having lots of great tools is good, but the way a craftsman puts his tools to work is what creates the masterpiece.
